• Question: How long does it take to be a scientist?

      I did my A-levels then:

      A degree in Genetics- Three years
      A PhD or Doctorate (degree by research)- Four years
      After that you are a Doctor (science not medical)

      The I worked as a post-doctoral scientist for 6 years before getting a lecturer position at Sunderland Uni and I have been here 13 years
