Vaccines help our immune system by showing it harmless levels of a virus or bacteria so that when the real one comes it is prepared for it. Its kind of like a mock exam before the real one!

Vaccines prime our immune system to prepare for exposure to a pathogen. That way we already protected when we are exposed!
