      Most of my work is transplant related but generally it is in kidneys. All the projects are really about how to use organs that usually would not have been used by improving the way they work.

      However, I also work with another person at Sunderland on a disease called cystinosis which is quite a nasty disease where people can’t use the amino acid cysteine correctly and die quite early. We are trying to understand how the disease works better to enable the design of better treatments
