• Question: Are you preparing anything against immune system diseases?

      Hi Maria,

      No, I personally I not preparing things to protect from autoimmune diseases, if that is what you mean by your question. I study bacteria that can cause infection and design vaccines to protect from infection. I’m not studying autoimmune disease (when are immune systems themselves get sick and attack itself) that is an entirely different field! A very interesting one though.

      No this is not a field of work I am involved in. We use immunosuppressants in transplants to stop the immune system of the person who gets the donated organ from seeing the organ as “non-self/foreign” and rejecting/destroying it
