• Question: Could the work you've studied save lives, in the future?

      Yes, at least that’s the aim of all medical research, understand diseases to be able to treat them in a better way with better treatments. Cheers!

      The disease I am studying (Crohn’s disease) doesn’t kill people but it dramatically impacts their quality of life so although I couldn’t save lives I could definitely improve them with the work I am doing.

      Hopefully! I am developing vaccines that would be used to vaccinate soldiers working in conflict zones, or used on whole populations in the case of a bio defensive. Any basic research we do into understanding the immune system and how to teach it to protect us with vaccines is a win win I think!
