      Hi Vicky,

If you have a natural curiosity, optimistic attitude, and good work ethic, you can succeed in science. It isn’t about strait A grades or 100% on every assignment. If you persevere through negative results and LEARN from when things go wrong, that will make you a good researcher. Sounds ‘cheesy’, and obviously a natural aptitude for remembering things and memorization will help you get good test scores, but understanding and making links is way more complex and advanced.

I hope you are considering a science subject and future career. Let me know if you have any other questions! I certainly didn’t have perfect grades but I did like working very hard to finally come to a resolution or long-sought after problem solved. It’s exciting and rewarding.

      Cheers,
      Carmen

I loved reading about science and enjoyed it. I think to be good at something you have to want to read lots about it, be able to explain it in your own words to really understand it and find it fun at least some of the time. If you don’t feel this way about a subject then it is harder to study as it becomes a chore. My advice in that case would be to change subject.
