Excellent question! The dots on screen behave like cells because I have used computer programming to make them follow rules that real cells follow for example if a cell sees a bacteria it will try and eat it but it can’t always do that. Because everything in the system is based on random numbers that are generated according to the time I run the simulation in milliseconds each run of the simulation will have slightly different results to the one before and that allows us to get a collection of results representative of the different results we see in people. For example no two people have the exact same number of white blood cells so no two runs of the simulation would either.
