      I would say the main types of organisms that cuase infectious disease are:
      1. Bacteria
      2. Viruses
      3. Fungi
      4. Parasites

      I would agree with Noel, and I would also add – rid your vocabulary of the work ‘germs’! It is not accurate to call things germs, they are infectious organisms or microorganisms 🙂
