• Question: What's your favourite thing about being a scientist?

      I think it gives you the opportunity to be a lifelong learner- maybe not what all school children want to hear!!! I am constantly learning new information and skills.

      As a University lecturer I have quite a flexible job, so although I often work at evenings and weekends I can leave the office early sometimes to say pick up my kids from school.

      My favorite thing is discovering something new everyday. About myself, about science, about how no matter how small changes are they can still be crucially important in the scheme of things.
