• Question: when we are not ill why do we cough and sneeze?

      We sneeze because of any irritation in the nose this is why pepper or dust makes us sneeze. When we are sick we sneeze because the nose is all bunged up making it irritating.

      An allergen or particulate matter can make us randomly sneeze, it is trapped in our nose hairs and propelled out of our noses by the sneezing action. A self cleaning technique by our body. same for a cough, a way our body can quickly expel a particle or irritant.
